Taekwon-Do means ”the art of hand and foot”. As well as being a form of self-defence, Taekwon-Do promotes physical conditioning and self-discipline. Studying Taekwon-Do develops the mind, body and spirit and encourages learning and strength.
Primarily, the Tiny Taekwon-Do class is about introducing young boys (4-7yrs) to the basic elements of Taekwon-Do in a fun and active environment. The classes help boys increase motor skills such as balance and coordination, improve listening skills and develop courtesy and discipline.
The classes also aim to develop boys' confidence and the self-esteem that will help them to succeed at school and elsewhere.

Tiny Taekwon-Do (TinyTKD) delivers a lot of exercise and focused activity and will help boys to work with each other as many exercises involve teams or partners. TinyTKD aims to help the student to be respectful to others, to follow instructions and to understand the importance of self-control. TinyTKD will also prepare the student to progress to the regular Taekwon-Do syllabus when they are old enough.
To recognise a student’s progress in achieving the overall aims of the training programme, different coloured T-shirts (in place of traditional belts) are awarded as certain criteria are fulfilled. All students start with a White Tiny Taekwon-Do T-Shirt and then aim to finally achieve Black!
More details on the syllabus will be provided with membership of the club.

How long has TinyTKD been running?
Classes commenced in 2006.
Is it suitable for both boys & girls?
Tiny TKD is a boys-only class.
It's all too rare to have an activity geared for the needs of boys and this class aims to help fill that gap. The lesson structure promotes an energetic, supportive and positive atmosphere for boys.
When is a child ready for TinyTKD?
Minimum starting age is 4 years old.
The child should respond positively and reliably to their name when called. They should also be able to copy others quite well.
How much does it cost?
The first trial class costs £5 (payable before the start of the class).
If you then want to join the school, the Joining fee includes:
Full details of Membership, further trial lessons and Special Offers are provided at your first class.
What's needed to join in?
For the first class, clothing should be loose-fitting and stretchable - for example tracksuit bottoms and T-shirt (preferably a white T-shirt) - and no footwear is required as training is done barefoot.
Water is available at the venue but your own bottle is more convenient.
NB Please ensure that you arrive in good time for the first class to speak to the instructor before joining in. If you are late, you may still be able to take part after the break (at the instructor's discretion) or you can watch the class instead.
What next?
To do a trial lesson, please call or email to book if the class is marked "Full" or "Limited Places Available ". Otherwise, you can just turn up to do a trial if your child is 4 years or older.
After a trial lesson, if you would then like to join a class that is full, you will be added to the waiting list. Please be aware that you must have done a trial lesson in order to go on the list. If there are limited places, joining is done on a first-come, first-served basis - i.e. places cannot be reserved.
